The Way Up Conference was my first conference, and I’m fortunate to have started with such an excellent one! The speakers at the 2021 Way Up Conference were engaging, informative, and empowering. I am so honored to have been able to attend this event through the generosity of those who donated to the Eunice A. Dell Memorial Scholarship. I left feeling optimistic about my professional future and about the state of Iowa higher education. I will definitely be back!

“This was my first time attending the Way Up Conference. Before attending, my coworkers shared stories of their wonderful experiences from past conferences with me. After acquiring my own first-hand knowledge, I understand why they couldn’t resist talking about them. The sessions I attended were packed with useful information that I could bring back and share at my institution. I was amazed to see women from diverse backgrounds and experiences express a common goal: to go back better prepared to serve our students. The Way Up Conference is a beautiful network of support and inspiration that allows women to leave feeling refreshed, up-lifted, and ready to make a difference. Thank you for this incredible opportunity.”

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to attend the Way Up conference. The panels I attended were exceptional, and the keynote speakers gave valuable advice. I had the opportunity to network with inspirational women in higher education, and gained beneficial insight in my future career. I have shared my experience and the notes I have written throughout the conference with women who are in student leadership positions. With this, I hope to inspire more BVU colleagues to pursue leadership roles in their undergraduate careers.

It was my great honor to receive the 2013 Eunice A. Dell Memorial Scholarship to be able to attend The Way Up conference. The conference delivered fantastic sessions that provided a wealth of information and frequent networking opportunities that removed the apparent mystery from advancing in higher education. Learning the professional and personal stories of many inspiring female leaders in higher education across the state of Iowa is instrumental as I begin to navigate my own way up. Because this conference showcases women at every stage in their career, I would encourage any woman in higher education to attend as the content is advantageous without bias to age.
